When our faith is pushed to the limit, we have a choice to make. Will we choose the path of least resistance or will we have the courage to be faithful?  In this eight-week series, learn how Daniel and his friends were able to trust in a sovereign God who overrules evil and strengthens His people to overcome faithfully. We will be covering everything from him being first captured as a boy to the lion's den to the fiery furnace.  Our study of Daniel will deliver confidence and strength to each of us as we seek to remain faithful in turbulent times- now and in the future.

Part One: The Exile Finds Favor

When our faith is pushed to the limit, we have a choice to make. Will we choose the path of least resistance or will we have the courage to be faithful?  Pastor Tim Madding launches the Book of Daniel message series by exploring chapter one. In this first message of the series, we learn how Daniel and his teenage friends, new slaves in Babylon, were being forced to conform to the ungodly culture.  Yet they chose instead to live counter to culture- even if it meant undermining their reputations or lives.

Part Two: A Godly Connection

Daniel and his friends, now among the wisemen of Babylon, are met with another life and death situation.  Instead of fearing for their lives, they go boldly before God’s presence and seek Him, believing He will work.  In the second message of the series, Pastor Tim Madding challenges us to be a people who dare to believe that God is still at work when the world seems to be falling apart around us; a people who live unshaken in the knowledge that God will make a way.

Part Three: The Furnace of Fire

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are government officials appointed by King Nebuchadnezzar. They are faced with a situation where they have to choose between submitting to God or a gentile king. It is seemingly a no-win situation. Should they compromise to save themselves? In the third part of the Daniel series Pastor Tim Madding shares that though we may never be in a life or death situation like this, our choices are a direct indication of who God is to us and whether He is the priority in our lives.

Part Four: The Humbled King

A drink of water might not seem much to us that have such easy access to it, but to so many throughout the world, they thirst for fresh, clean water.  For them, it means the difference between life and death.  Jesus comes to the woman at the well and asks for a drink of water and in turn offers her the eternal Water of Life.  Just how our world longs for pure water, they desire the refreshing that only Jesus can bring through us.

Part Five: The Fall of Babylon

It’s never too late. If you’re still breathing, God has a plan and purpose for your life. In Christ, you are never past your prime! We overestimate what we can do in a year or two, but we underestimate what God can do in ten or twenty or seventy years.  In the fifth part of the Daniel series Pastor Tim Madding shares how Daniel, who appears to be in retirement, is still being used by God to reveal the fall of Babylon.

Part Six: In a Den of Lions

Your reputation says a great deal about who you are. Are you known as a person of integrity?  As a trustworthy steward in your areas of responsibility?  As a man or woman of conviction?  What will you do if those convictions are in conflict with others and cause you to suffer?  In the sixth part of the Daniel series Pastor Tim Madding shares the heroic story of Daniel in the den of lions and how he chose not to compromise his faith or convictions and the resulting deliverance of God.

Part Seven: Visions and Dreams

The book of Daniel is made up of amazing stories and spectacular visions and dreams.  These stories help us better understand the meaning of these prophecies.  In the seventh part of the Daniel series Pastor Tim Madding shares how God pulls back the curtain of time and reveals His plans and His purposes to His prophets. The goal of prophecy isn’t figuring out timelines. It's a reminder that God is still in control. It's a reminder not to lose hope, not to lose heart. It's a reminder to get ready for the part God wants you to play.

Part Eight: Sealed Until the End

Most of Daniel’s prophecies have come to pass.  Some have been sealed up until the end- still yet to be fulfilled.  In the final message of the Daniel series Pastor Tim Madding shows that the final conflict between God’s people and world will come to a head.  These prophecies reveal that God’s people must be the kind of people who do not put their trust in a current leader or ideology but recognize that God will outlive and outlast any earthly leader. As we stand in times of crisis, may we be people who stand in faithfulness, who walk in patience, who cling to hope.
